Brooklyn Heights Synagoge Iftar

For nine years, our neighbors who worship at the Dawood Mosque on State Street have broken a day’s fast here at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue. A number of members from the mosque arrive early at BHS and offer their evening prayers in our Reception Room where we are welcome to be present and observe. A short time later we are joined by those who worshipped at the mosque. Both the Imam, Sheik Abdallah Allam and the President of the Mosque, Dr. Ahmad Jaber join us. Most years we have a crowd of 70-100 people. Mosque and synagogue members get to dialogue and learn about one another as we share tables over a kosher dinner upstairs on the second floor. A brief presentation by a member of the Mosque is followed by an open Q&A.
