A Night for Yemen: Brooklyn
The situation in Yemen is growing increasingly dire. About 6.8 million people are in a state of emergency, one step below famine. Another 10 million are also facing severe food insecurity, according to the United Nations. This is more than a 20% increase in hunger since June 2016.“Simply put this is nothing short of a humanitarian catastrophe,” UNHCR’s country representative, Ayman Gharaibeh, said in December 2016.
